My dear sister-in-law,
The struggle is over, for my sister-in-law, Amelia, she is now at peace and I am happy for her.
My fondest memories of Mrs. Erving is during my Cub Scout years growing up on Hurlburt Street. Mrs. Erving as a Cub Scout Den Mother (Pack 223, Den 2) would find the time in her busy schedule to spend many a Saturday morning with those of us Scouts. She would teach and mentor us and help instill a sense of fair play, values and morals that have lasted me to this day. In part my choice to become a college professor was in part influenced by those many Saturday mornings spent with, Mrs. Erving, a natural instructor. As long as I live I will always carry her memory with me.
